The strings of the standard electric bass guitar are tuned one octave below the bottom four strings of a six string guitar. Study of the PDF diagram available below will enhance your knowledge of the first five frets of the bass guitar neck. Beat music sounded quite exciting live and very different from the 1950's onwards since they rarely used the upright bass but an electric one because it was easier transportation wise and needed less room plus it was a relative new invasion, do not forget what now is nostalgia was once modern or even avantgarde :-)
