Mind in Mid Herts - Activities
BRANCH OUT is a befriending service for adults aged 18-65 suffering from mental health difficulties. Befriending provides confidential, dependable one-to-one support by matching individuals with a volunteer befriender who will visit them on a regular basis (usually just a few hours a week) and accompany them in a variety of social and leisure activities.
OPEN DOOR CLUB is for people suffering mental distress. The group meets at 12 Southdown Road, Harpenden every Tuesday morning 10:30am to 12:00pm and takes part in a varied programme of social and educational activities. The group has been running for over 20 years and is well established, with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
STEPPING STONES is a new Mind project developed in partnership with the NHS and is based at the Albany Lodge Acute Admissions Clinic. The primary objective of the project is to help people recovering from mental health difficulties reintegrate themselves back into an independent lifestyle. This is achieved through a number of one-to-one activities including going for walks, shopping, cooking, gardening, playing board games, cards, music and so on.
GROUP WORK is centered around Arts & Crafts on a Friday morning and social activities Monday to Thursday 10:30am to 12 noon e.g. walking and visit to a café.
